Educational Programs/Organizations for Students


Ayn Rand Institute - works to introduce young people to Ayn Rand’s novels, to support scholarship and research based on her ideas, and to promote the principles of reason, rational self-interest, individual rights and laissez-faire capitalism to the widest possible audience through education and outreach programs.


Economic Freedom - is a project run by the Charles Koch Institute that educates people on the importance of liberty through videos, research, and more.


Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) - offers a variety of programs, publications, and internships nationwide for newcomer students who want to learn more about the economic, legal, and ethical principles of a free society. 


Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) at George Mason University - provides intellectual, mentoring, and placement resources for students and scholars interested in advancing individual liberty and economic freedom through educational seminars, internships, scholarships, and online learning resources.


Institute for Liberal Studies (ILS) - is dedicated to promoting discussions of economics, philosophy, history and public policy in Canada through seminars, essay contests, discussions and debates.


Leadership Institute (LI) - trains conservatives worldwide in political campaigns, fundraising, grassroots organizing, youth politics, and communications to succeed as members of Congress, state legislators, local officials, media personalities, and conservative organization leaders. 


Learn Liberty - is a project of the Institute for Humane Studies that educates individuals about classical liberal ideas through short animated videos, online courses, local events, interactive webcasts, and much more.


Praxis – is an intensive 10-month program for those who want more than college. Praxis is for entrepreneurial young people who want real-world career experience and the best of online education all in one. 


Students for Liberty (SFL) - is a network of support and resources for pro-liberty students and student groups all over the world. 


Students for a Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) -  is an international network of students dedicated to ending the war on drugs  by bringing young people together and creating safe spaces for students of all political and ideological stripes to have honest conversations about drugs and drug policy.


National Journalism Center (a project of Young America’s Foundation) - works with 40 media outlets in Washington, D.C. to provide paid training and internship opportunities year-round for aspiring young conservative journalists.


The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) - seeks to create a brighter, more prosperous future by preparing young people for leadership, teaching them the ideas of freedom and a free-market economy. 


Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) -  seeks to recruit, train, educate, and mobilize students on the ideals of liberty and the Constitution with more than 380 chapters and 100,000 student activists nationwide.


Professional Development/Network Organizations


America’s Future Foundation (AFF) - is the premiere networking and professional development organization for liberty-minded young professionals in Washington and chapters nationwide.


Atlas Network - strengthens the worldwide freedom movement through outreach programs, prize programs, and events — as well as its Atlas Leadership Academy training programs for aspiring think tank leaders.  


Bastiat Society - is an international network of business people committed to defending capitalism, wealth creation, and individual liberty.


Center for Shared Services (CSS) - offers non-profits support in the areas of human resources, recruiting, operations, technology, training, and best practice resources. Charles Koch Institute (CKI) - works to prepare professionals for careers in advancing economic freedom through professional education, job opportunities, and training programs. 


Liberty on the Rocks (LOTR) - brings together liberty communities in cities across the country with monthly networking and social events. 


Talent Market - focuses on identifying talented individuals for mid and senior level openings with nonprofit organizations that promote the principles of a free-society.




Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity - is a nonprofit journalism organization employing investigative journalists and engaging with citizen watchdogs across the country with the goal of exposing waste, fraud and abuse in government.


Moving Picture Institute (MPI) - supports freedom-oriented films and filmmakers who make a lasting impact on people’s understanding of liberty.


Public Policy/Think Tanks


American Enterprise Institute (AEI) - is a community of scholars and supporters committed to expanding liberty, increasing individual opportunity and strengthening free enterprise through independent thinking, open debate, reasoned argument, facts and the highest standards of research and exposition.


Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFP) - promotes economic freedom by educating citizens about the value of limited government and a free market economy. AFP Foundation provides educational programs and analyses, hosts major events like RightOnline and the Defending the American Dream Summit, and runs TV & radio campaigns that help policymakers, the media and individual citizens understand why the American system of free enterprise is the best way to ensure prosperity for all.


Atlas Society -  presents the empowering principles of Objectivism to a global audience, and offers those principles as a rational and moral alternative in the marketplace of philosophical ideas through a variety of programs.


Cato Institute - is a think tank dedicated to the principles of individual liberty, limited government, free markets, and peace.


Clemson Institute - provides a public forum for investigating the underlying principles and institutions of capitalism through teaching, scholarship and community outreach programs.


Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) - is a public policy organization focused on promoting free markets and fighting regulatory burdens in energy and environment policy, technology, health care innovation, consumer products, trade, transportation, immigration, and more.


Heritage Foundation - is a research and educational institute that formulates and promotes conservative public policies based on five key principles: free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.


Independent Institute - is a scholarly research and educational organization that sponsors in-depth studies of critical social and economic issues.


Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) - is based in Washington, D.C., and seeks to promote the free-market message among women through media appearances and commentary, educational publications, and events.


Mercatus Center - is a university-based research center that advances knowledge about how markets work to improve people’s lives by training graduate students, conducting research, and applying economics to offer solutions to society’s most pressing problems.


Mises Institute – is a research and educational center of classical liberalism, libertarian political theory, and the Austrian School of economics. It serves as the world’s leading provider of educational materials, conferences, media, and literature in support of the tradition of thought represented by Ludwig von Mises and the Austrian School of economics.


National Taxpayer’s Union (NTU) - is a national organization of comprised of over 362,000 members who advocate at all levels of government for tax relief and reform, lower and less wasteful spending, individual liberty, and free enterprise.


R Street Institute - is a public policy, advocacy, and research organization that supports free markets; limited, effective government; and responsible environmental stewardship. It has headquarters in Washington, D.C. and branch offices in Tallahassee, FL; Austin, TX; and Columbus, OH.


Tax Foundation - has been working for simple, sensible tax policy at the federal, state, and local levels by informing Americans about the size of tax burdens and providing economically principled analysis of tax policy issues since 1937.




Institute for Justice (IJ) - is a non-profit, public interest law firm litigating for economic liberty, private property, school choice, and free speech.
