The American Legislative Exchange Council seeks to promote the principles of federalism by developing and promoting policies that reflect the Jeffersonian principles. The group provides significant networking opportunities for its nearly 2,400 state legislators who share ideas about how to promote policies that emphasize individual liberty. ALEC's National Task Forces provide a forum for legislators and the private sector to discuss issues, develop policies and write model legislation.
