The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the nation’slargest nonpartisan, individual membership association of state legislators, is seeking to hire a part-time staff accountant.
Specific responsibilities include:
Recording monthly revenues and general journal entries for a multi-million dollar organization, perform monthly reconciliations, assist in the month end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures are followed. General qualifications for the position include a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting with a minimum of two years accounting experience. Candidate should have strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills. Candidate should also have a creative, entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to multi-task.
Specific qualifications include:
Strong commitment to ALEC’s mission promoting the principles of free markets, limited government and federalism, excellent mathematical and computational skills, experience and skill in reconciliations, and ability to apply problem solving techniques. Total compensation for this position is market-driven.
