Description:
The Development Officer is responsible for working with the development team and development consultants in developing and implementing ongoing fundraising initiatives in support of the Institute’s mission. Elements of the Institute’s annual campaign include major donor initiatives, direct response programs, events, foundations, corporate giving, planned giving, and fostering donor relationships. This position reports to the President/CEO.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree and/or four to six years of related experience in fundraising, development, politics or public policy work, more experienced candidates may also apply;
- Be familiar with the Microsoft Office software suite; InDesign a plus grant writing and online fundraising experience is a plus have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced work environment and
- Share a personal philosophy compatible with the Institute’s mission and public policy objectives
In addition, qualified candidates must have a proven track record of success in identifying and cultivating donor relationships, be excited to contribute to a growing organization, a strong sense of professional and ethical responsibility and be able to work independently and on a team while handling multiple projects.
