Description:
Legislative intern sought for a non-profit assocation representing the survey and opinion research profession. Analyze and research federal and state laws, regulations, and legislation, attend hearings and briefings, and assist with federal and state government relations. Policy issues include privacy, data security, and telecommunications/IT. No receptionist duties! Unpaid. Substantive work perfect for course credit. About the internship: Our office is very small, and the job would be more substance than administration. We answer our own phones You'd have the opportunity to help us with legal and legislative research, analysis, and communications, and advocacy, outreach and lobbying. We like to send our interns out to relevant public policy events around town as much as possible to represent CMOR as necessary and report back on goings-on. And we will try to tailor the work to your interests as much as possible.
About CMOR: CMOR is a nonprofit trade association for the survey and opinion research profession. In our DC office, we focus on all facets of government affairs -- lobbying, legislative tracking, and extensive legal guidance and education for our membership -- usually relating to privacy law, and telecommunications and IT public policy issues.
