In her first trip to the United States in more than 20 years, Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi will travel to San Francisco on September 28, to accept the Václav Havel Prize for Creative Dissent and join a range of leaders from advocacy, business, media, policy, and technology at the first U.S. Freedom Forum.

Joining Daw Suu Kyi will be Russian democracy advocate Garry Kasparov; Saudi women’s rights pioneer Manal al-Sharif; Pussy Riot spokesman Pytor Verzilov; Ghanaian economist George Ayittey; Egyptian-American journalist Mona Eltahawy; drug war critic Ethan Nadelmann; artist Naomi Natale; Slate editor William Dobson; Kashmir expert Justine Hardy; Iranian author Marina Nemat; and Venezuelan press freedom advocate Marcel Granier.
