Please join us Thursday, August 8 to enjoy a duo of speakers who are both working to open up the conversation on marijuana prohibition.
Steve Nolin is the Houston NORML president. NORML, short for National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, advocates the reform of unjust cannabis laws at the local, state, and federal levels. The Houston chapter represents NORML at local events, keeps members abreast of important topics, and actively lobbies to change the mindset of our Texas legislators.
Ann Lee, mother of Richard Lee, an original founder of the Houston NORML chapter as well as Oaksterdam University, heads up R.A.M.P.– Republicans Against Marijuana Prohibition. Never knew there was such a group? Ann will tell us why marijuana prohibition is a decidedly UN-conservative position.
From the invasion of privacy, the exorbitant procedural cost of shuffling millions through our cramped justice system, the physical taking of liberty when you throw someone in a cage, or the deadly war creeping across our borders, the debate about marijuana prohibition deserves more thought beyond “It’s a Gateway Drug. PERIOD.”
Please join us at Hefley’s Bar (and bring your friends) to participate in this very healthy conversation!
