In addition to the primary associations, substantive work in political science also takes place through smaller organizations centered around a particular subfield, area, or topic. For example: The Society for Political Methodology supports political scientists who use quantitative techniques to analyze data. The Law and Society Association is an interdisciplinary organization that assists scholars interested in studying the intersection of law and politics, among other issues. The Public Choice Society provides support to economists and political scientists interested in the Public Choice School. The James Buchanan Center and the Center for the Study of Public Choice at George Mason University also support those interested in the Public Choice School.
