John Majewski |

John Majewski was born in Ohio, raised in Texas, and now considers himself a Californian. He is Assistant Professor in the history department at the University of California, Santa Barbara, a position he took after receiving his M.A. and Ph.D. in American history from UCLA. He also holds a M.Sc. in economic history from the London School of Economics and a B.A. in economic history from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Majewski's research interests have focused on the economic history of 19th-century America. His first book, entitled A House Dividing: Economic Development in Pennsylvania and Virginia before the Civil War, was published this year by Cambridge University Press.
