Steven Horwitz |

Steven Horwitz is associate dean of the First Year and professor of economics at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. He earned his BA in economics and philosophy from the University of Michigan and his Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University. His areas of specialty are Austrian economics, monetary economics, and comparative economic systems. Professor Horwitz is editor of the Biographical Dictionary of Austrian Economists, (Elgar, 2005) and is the author of Monetary Evolution, Free Banking, and Economic Order (Westview, 1992) and Microfoundations and Macroeconomics: An Austrian Perspective (Routledge, 2000). He has written numerous articles for academic journals and popular publications. He currently serves as the book review editor of the Review of Austrian Economics and is a member of the editorial board of Critical Review.
