John Thrasher

 John Thrasher is a program director in the Advanced Academics Department at IHS. He directs the Humane Studies Fellowship, The Hayek Fund for Scholars, and various other conferences and seminars for graduate students and young academics.

John attended his first IHS seminar in 2003 and continues to work closely with the summer seminars, this year directing the Advanced Studies in Freedom seminar.

John earned a BA in philosophy at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Although he went to school in Boulder, John is originally from Huntsville, Alabama though he lived most of his life in Dayton, Ohio.

His interests include the philosophy of Adam Smith and Thomas Reid, Meta-ethics, Political philosophy, Philosophy of mind, Philosophy of science, and early modern european history among other things.
